The DealYou walk into a dim lit room, Scratching like they said you would.The Deal
The exchange of bills seems so simple when not thinking of the dire consequences.
I watch you from a distance, inhaling the poisonous white powder.
This life was not made for champions. It suits you well.
You throw your head back in ecstasy, but this time, something’s wrong.
Your body viciously trembles about, not ceasing til all the lights go out.
It’s a waste of time, money, and for what? So you can die well?
What a shame.

Stranger In The DistanceShe first laid eyes upon him as he went to his seat in the club. The lights dimmed as the jazz band stepped onto the stage. Tonight they would be performing their Frank Sinatra tribute. The band was still getting set up, and her eyed moved and focused on this new face. He had tan light brown skin and dark curls of hair. His lips were full, and his eyes shone a brilliant shade of blue. He wore an untucked blue dress shirt and black slacks. The blue in his shirt made his eyes more radiant than they already were. This beautiful specimen of a man sat down with his friends as one of them handed out Cubans to the group.Stranger In The Distance
Tonight

Until We Meet AgainThe light from the sun scorched my eyes as I stepped out from the car. I was engulfed in California sun, the kind of sun where no matter how badly it could burn, it still felt great to be under it. But my focus wasn't on my burning retinas; it was on the figure emerging from the baggage claim doors at the San Jose International Airport. I obnoxiously waved my hand to get his attention, and for the first time in two years, our eyes met. Father time had not laid as much as a finger on him. He looked exactly the same! Naturally, there were some small differences. For one, he had lost the rugged, unshaven look, which I didn't care much for anywayUntil We Meet Again

When you go off to sleep beware
For Nightmare is always there
Waiting for the moment to enter your dreams;
dying to be the fear in your screams
